GOD’S DESIGN for Peaceful Ministry vs. Turf-Guarding Culture

Introduction

In the days when media began reshaping the church’s image, now including the rampant GOSSIP MINISTRIES  Tell All (big)  Genre, …God opened the door for peaceful online ministry — a space free from self-justification, accusation, and witch-watching. Too often, modern ministry has drifted toward personal attacks, cult-like turf guarding, and biased control.  Too often it appears that “an accustomed” major pastor’s, prophet’s/apostle’s leader turf outweighs the value of the seeking lost stranger, the newbie, the test driving expat leader.

Also,t the First Church, as seen in the New Testament and history,  lived by a radically different model: a Christ-centered, Spirit-led community built on humility, mutual submission, and servant leadership

God’s Peaceful Vision “Over Phariseeism in local levels, created the “NEO PHARISEEISM”  from the late 1980s’ GOOD MOVES gone Super Star “Trending in their own Ministry Made Up Fine Tuned Minds” Also DFW Leader Ministry Fellowship (www.onlinefellowship.us) which is now EORR Cross Body Unity Ministry Fellowship and in SC /NC border, was first called into being in DFW 2015,as a office prophetic “SIGN” and we are still working on getting a land presence in this kinder special area.

At EORR Cross Body Unity, we train  and operate in in a wide area Ephesians’ 4 pure “community form,” built on the servant-leader principle of no big I’s, no little yous…
We offer these as our homespun land pastor, church, ministry fellowship reminders about HOW BIG THIS HAS GROWN due to what I call the LAY OF THE USA LAND being likened to the PIT…. LAKE OF FIRE.

Top Leader Consulting? Please contact.

Big Point: In the early church, Ephesians 4 was lived out daily through teaching, role-modeling, and transformed relationships. All office sr leaders, elders, lay,  families, and married couples walked in mutual submission in the fear of the Lord (Ephesians 5:21). There were no titles used to dominate, no worldly hierarchy, and no oppressive customs.

The Very First Church VS Turf Guarding

1. No one person or group was “over all.”

Authority was shared and functional, not centralized or political. Leadership was stewardship, not a throne (1 Peter 5:2–3).

2. Freedom to follow God’s leading.

Every believer could hear from God for themselves, gather in fellowship, or meet in small groups without fear of being “out of order” (John 10:27).

3. No “big I’s” and “little you’s.”

Every member was a living stone in the spiritual house (1 Peter 2:5). There were no celebrity pastors, ministry caste systems, or people-pleasing politics.

4. A unified, edifying community.

Though diverse in gifts, the believers worked as one body (1 Corinthians 12:12–27), with priorities rooted in:

  • Christ as the Head (Colossians 1:18)(no some great voice, office, gift, sr title or hillbilly ego potentate)

  • Holiness, humility, and love (Ephesians 4:1–3)

  • Spirit-led teaching and service (Acts 2:42–47)

  • Care for the poor, widows, and marginalized (Acts 6:1–7; James 1:27)

  • Advancing the gospel to all nations (Matthew 28:18–20)

Yet….Who’s ever heard of Paul’s Ephesians 4 Community Command?

Teaching the Turf-Guarders: Ephesians 4 in Context

Ephesians 4 is one of the clearest blueprints for Modern Day NOW area wide leadership — and it leaves no room for valuing income, class, social rank, or title above the eternal worth of a soul. Paul’s call is to create a Spirit-led, interdependent network where every tribe, tongue, and culture works together to train, equip, and mature believers.

When(if, as)  leaders submit to what God really wants, they trade short-term rewards for the long-term fruit of souls won and lives transformed — the kind of work that pleases God and lasts into eternity.

NOTE: Ephesians 4 is God’s blueprint for functional, servant-hearted leadership — not tithe nor title-driven control. Its purpose is unity, maturity, and eternal fruit.

1. Walk Worthy of the Calling (Ephesians 4:1–3)

“Walk worthy… with all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.”

A leader’s calling is a pathway of humility, not a pedestal.

  • Lowliness — valuing others above oneself.

  • Meekness — choosing gentleness over control.

  • Longsuffering — enduring offense without retaliation.

  • Forbearance in love — giving space for growth and grace.

Unity is a bond of peace — turf-guarding destroys this peace.

2. One Body, One Spirit, One Hope (Ephesians 4:4–6)

“There is one body, and one Spirit… One Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all…”

God’s vision is one body — not divided by denomination, ethnicity, economy, or brand. Every believer belongs equally.

3. Leadership Gifts Are Functions, Not Thrones (Ephesians 4:7–13)

“He gave some, apostles… prophets… evangelists… pastors and teachers; for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ…”

Fivefold gifts (offices) are not flagrant ambitious TITLES but “Functions” to use to SERVE MANY OTHERS :

  • apostles — pioneer and oversee

  • prophets — bring God’s heart and correction

  • evangelists — proclaim Christ to the lost

  • pastors — shepherd the flock

  • teachers — ground in truth

Note: The goal is not recognition but perfecting the saints. Leaders must lay down power games, brand wars, and income-first thinking for kingdom fruitfulness.

4. Maturity in Love, Not Manipulation (Ephesians 4:14–16)

“…that we henceforth be no more children… but speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ…”

Maturity is not in numbers or budgets but in Christlikeness, building others, and guarding unity. Christ alone is Head.

Eternal Perspective

In eternity, the Lord will not ask how many titles we held or how much revenue we generated, but how faithfully we built His Body, protected unity, and valued souls above self.

  • REPEAT: Ephesians 4 Leadership & Unity Teaching Outline

1. Walk Worthy of the Calling (Ephesians 4:1–3)

Scripture: (note: it will apostolic ministry leader training, ongoing, and all persons will have to “WORK ON IT” for it keep people humble, but it’s ROUGH

“Walk worthy… with all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.”

Teaching Points:

  • Leadership is a pathway of humility, not a pedestal.

  • Lowliness — value others above yourself.

  • Meekness — choose gentleness over control.

  • Longsuffering — endure without bitterness.

  • Forbearance in love — create space for others to grow.

  • Unity is protected by peace, destroyed by turf-guarding.

2. One Body, One Spirit, One Hope (Ephesians 4:4–6)

TD NOTE: NOT CHRISTIAN SR MINISTRY “TURF”

Scripture:

“There is one body, and one Spirit… One Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all…”

Teaching Points:

  • All believers are equally part of the one body.

  • No room for denominational elitism, classism, racism, or ministry competition.

  • Leaders must actively dismantle man-made walls.

Teaching Points:

  • Fivefold ministry exists to serve and equip — not to control or elevate self.

  • Apostle — pioneers and oversees God’s mission.

  • Prophet — delivers God’s heart and correction.

  • Evangelist — proclaims Christ to the lost.

  • Pastor — shepherds and cares for the flock.

  • Teacher — grounds believers in truth.

  • Leaders must lay down income-driven, power-driven, and title-driven mindsets.

Teaching the Turf-Guarders: Ephesians 4 in Context

Ephesians 4 is one of the clearest New Testament blueprints for leadership in the Body of Christ — and it leaves no room for valuing income, class, social rank, or title above the eternal worth of a soul.

Paul’s call in this chapter is not about protecting territory or building personal platforms — it’s about creating a Spirit-led, interdependent network where every tribe, tongue, and culture works together to train, equip, and mature believers for Christ’s cause.

When leaders submit to what God really wants, they trade the short-term rewards of recognition, money, and prestige for the long-term fruit of souls won, lives transformed, and communities shaped for eternity. This is far more pleasing to God than building an empire in His name but without His heart.

1. Walk Worthy of the Calling (Ephesians 4:1–3)

“I… beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called, with all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.”

Once Again..a high multigifted, big talented SENT leader’s “calling” is not a pedestal — it’s a pathway of humility.

  • Lowliness — valuing others above oneself, regardless of class, title, or status.

  • Meekness — choosing gentleness over force, persuasion over pressure.

  • Longsuffering — enduring offense and misunderstanding without retaliation.

  • Forbearance in love — making room for the flaws of others while believing for their growth.

Paul says unity is a bond of peace — turf-guarding replaces peace with suspicion, fear, and division.

2. One Body, One Spirit, One Hope (Ephesians 4:4–6)

“There is one body, and one Spirit… One Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all…”

God’s vision is a united church — not divided by denomination, ethnicity, socio-economic class, or ministry brand. Leaders must resist the temptation to see their congregation, budget, or influence as the highest priority. In God’s kingdom, every believer belongs to the same body.

3.  Leadership Offices (God  Given as Gifts) Are Functions, Not Thrones (Ephesians 4:7–13)

“And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ…”

Point:  Leadership Gifts (5 FOLD OFFICE TITLES ) Were, Are “Functions” Not Thrones or Capital A “Celebrity” (Ephesians 4:7–13)

Scripture: (TD Notes how Paul writes these lower case ‘servant leader” letters) Also these are ‘selected chosen gifts’ but not Slave Owners, Authoritarian Totalitarians

“He gave some, apostles… prophets… evangelists… pastors and teachers; for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ…”

  • Five-fold ministry roles are not badges of superiority; they are functions given to serve others:

  • Note the definitions given for these sr offices (below) are the least definitive,  and not sufficient, very minimal due to length of this article…therefor, more later..

    • Function apostles — pioneer break new ground, and oversee Spirit-led expansion of their call, give niche (special perspective) Bible revelation, to the entire Christian diverse community (not just own a special boys club, girls club type turf)

    • Function prophets — bring God’s heart, His word in  truth, and correction in love

    • Function evangelists — carry the gospel with urgency to the lost

    • Function pastors — shepherd and care for the flock

    • Function teachers — ground believers in sound doctrine

The goal is not personal recognition “elevated class” but meant for the “perfecting the saints “— helping others grow strong enough to do the work of ministry themselves. This requires leaders to lay down power games, brand wars, and income-first thinking in favor of kingdom fruitfulness.

    4. Maturity in Love, Not Manipulation (Ephesians 4:14–16)

“…that we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro… but speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ…”

Paul warns against spiritual immaturity — the kind that chases trends, follows personalities, or fears losing followers. Maturity is measured not by numbers, budgets, or platforms but by:

    • Do we look more like Christ?

    • Are we building others, or building ourselves?

    • Do we protect the unity of the Spirit more than our own influence?

Leaders must remember that Christ, not the human leader, is the Head of the Church. The eternal harvest will not be measured in personal wealth or ministry reach but in lives transformed for the glory of God.

A Hallowed Eternal Perspective: Two Masters, Which One Will WE Choose?

THE DEMI (HALF HEARTED LUSTER) AND THE DEMAS MIGHT BE A USA FUTURE CHURCH DEMISE

When leaders and churches truly align with Ephesians 4, they become a wise and winsome witness to the watching world — not by intimidation, ambitious achievements, nor overseer control, and/or displays of elite hierarchy, but by embodying the love, truth, and servant leadership of Christ.

In eternity, the Lord will not ask how many titles we held, how much revenue we generated, or how many platforms we occupied — but how faithfully we built His Body, protected its unity, and valued others, eternal SOULS  making it to HEAVEN above all that is now dear Here on This Temporal Passing TURF OF SELF

  • THE DEMASIZATION OF THE WESTERN CHURCH (A God given word from the Lord January 2020 prior to Covid) It followed on the heels of a more important major word which I have been reminded of often after 2025 began.

  • It was “THE COMING BOOK OF ACTS HOLY SPIRIT “FLUSH” OF GOD’S MIGHTY CLEANSING, REFINING MINISTRY WIND” which would continue…and after both of these in March 2020 the USA Church was forced to shutdown by Covid.

  • I noted this “timing” and when the churches were forced to close, all I could think of was “It’s GOD’S CHURCH not MINE or THEIRS’ and HE IS REBOOTING THEM.
However, after they reopened it may grown have grown WORSE “less humility, less fear of the Lord A LOT MORE Ambitious celebrity, PRIDE and haughty accusing flakey, anointed key membership.

I somberly close with this and DEMAS MINISTRY (primarily if not all, charismatic, fine arts, famous, show biz, class conscious, “spiritual turf guarding” and often HAUGHTY gender, age, size, look, class conscious also “denying the power their off (psychic occult) demeaning, dark ‘belittling” type of fractious, fine tuned, ambitious wannabe, also ” poor us” defaming FRUIT.

  • We Note Apostle Paul’s fleeting last chapter of his last letter  2 Timothy, bemoaned the fact that “young gifted ambitious, talented and SENT future prophet DEMAS  “had left the ministry, for he loved the things of this world MORE.”  2 Timothy 4

And SO IT IS CURRENTLY..but..Dr T is ever hopeful..and understands, prays that …it will  shift.
So I close with following subcultures involved in this (out here in the seats)

GOOGLE RESEARCH

These are vast USA subcultures in various parts of “certain ministry styles”

Psalm 144 “beware of the strange children “(leaders)

2 Timothy 2:24-26 enormous dysfunctional accusing subculture

2 Timothy 3:1-8, God ‘s people ,leader, lay, mega, micro)

I Timothy 6:5 (leaders, the elders, the cell leaders)

GOOD NEWS HOWEVER..HERE IS THE REMEDY: 2 Timothy 3:16-17
