False doctrine is one thing to keep watch for; false authority and governing control is another.

Both are vital signs to evaluate within any church, ministry, or Christian fellowship. These two issues can be discerned when we hold up every work, doctrine, and leadership structure against the eternal purpose of the Bible, the true Gospel (the Glad Tidings of Great Joy), and the real heart of Jesus.

The true test is in how leadership—apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers, bishops, staff, and lay members—regard all kinds of people. Are they treating every style, culture, race, and type of person with Jesus-style respect, dignity, and authentic care?

Are they showing the meekness and humility of Christ, or are they conformed to a hierarchy of control and favoritism? True leadership in the First Church was marked by lowliness, servant-hearted care, and equal regard for every believer.

Watch, evaluate, and assess. The fruit of Christlike leadership will always reveal itself—not just in what is preached, but in how (ALL) people are treated.

 1 John 1:7 – WALKING IN THE LIGHT TOGETHER

Greek Word Study:

“Walk” – peripateō (περιπατέω) – live, conduct one’s life.

“Fellowship” – koinōnia (κοινωνία) – communion, mutual sharing.

Key Insight: True prophets don’t isolate or avoid fellowship. They are willing to walk in light, transparency, and mutual relationship.

Galatians 6:2 – BEAR ONE ANOTHER’S BURDENS (denotes exchanging information, problems, great concerns..as in  relating with)

“Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.”

ESV:

“Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.”

Greek Word Study:

“Bear” – bastazō (βαστάζω) – to lift, carry, endure with compassion.

“Law of Christ” – refers to Christ’s new commandment to love (John 13:34).

Key Insight: False prophets refuse personal burden-sharing. True leaders engage, listen, and help carry the load.

 

BIBLICAL CONFRONTATION Matthew 18:15–16 – Galatians 6:1

1. Matthew 18:15-16

This is apostolic protocol, the First Church, Matthew here and about “regarding, respecting and humble reproving , correcting another

KJV: Relating, not accusing safely from afar, putting our names on false witness accusing witch lists,judging based on sight, evil reports. 

Key words “ALONE” in private ,not accusing/jumping anyone, attacking in a public setting

“Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.
But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.”

ESV:

“If your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault, between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have gained your brother.
But if he does not listen, take one or two others along with you, that every charge may be established by the evidence of two or three witnesses.”

Greek Word Study:

“Tell him his/her their fault” – elenchō (ἐλέγχω) – to expose, reprove in love, with calm face to face, humility

Key Insight: A false spirit evades healthy confrontation. Jesus teaches face-to-face conflict resolution, not avoidance, triangulation, or public shame.

2. Galatians 6:1 MORE FIRST CHURCH MINISTRY RELATIONSHIP PROTOCOL

Galatians 6:1 – A First Church Mantle of Restoration  “God’s Sr Lay Offices “Real Respect” For All, God’s Everyday Common People”

“Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.

“Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted.”

 Greek Key Words and First Church Meaning

  • “Overtaken” (προλημφθῇ – prolēmphthē):
    A person did not plan to fall. They were caught off guard, overtaken suddenly — like a net falling on an unsuspecting bird.


NOTE First Church View: Sin is not always rebellion. Often it’s entrapment. The body must approach the fallen as a rescuer, not a judge.

  • “Fault” (παράπτωμα – paraptōma):
    A false step, slip, not outright treachery.


NOTE First Church ethos: Gentleness in correction honors the person’s potential repentance. It shows mercy, not legalism.

  • “Restore” (καταρτίζετε – katartizete):

  • To reset, mend, perfectly join what was broken. Same word used to describe mending fishing nets (Matt 4:21).

    NOTE:  First Church model: Restoration meant full reintegration into community life. No branding. No scarlet letter. No exclusion. Healing was always the goal.

  • “Ye which are spiritual” (πνευματικοὶ – pneumatikoi):

  • Mature, discerning, deeply submitted to God’s Spirit.

  • NOTE: Not position, not title — but fruit-based authority (see James 3:17; Gal. 5:22–23).

  • POINT: Only the spiritually healthy should attempt correction. Immature correction leads to harm, pride, or worse — spiritual abuse.

  • “Meekness” (πραΰτης – prautēs):
    Quiet strength, humility under control.

  • POINT:  Meekness is how Jesus approached Peter after his betrayal. It is not weak. It is the might of Christ’s spirit flowing through servant leadership.

  • “Considering thyself” (σκοπῶν σεαυτόν – skopōn seauton):
    Scoping or examining yourself with intent.

  • NOTE: The First Church corrected with self-examination, not self-exaltation. No “above the law” spirit. Paul warns: You, too, could fall.

MAKING A POINT:  First Church Application (Then and Now)

  1. No Public Shaming:
    Early Christian correction happened face-to-face (Matthew 18:15), in private, with respect. No broadcasted rebuke.
    “Ye which are spiritual” does not mean self-appointed prophets with loud voices on platforms. It means broken, merciful healers.

  2. Discernment Over Accusation:
    Gal. 6:1 is not a license to nitpick. The First Church discerned spiritual root causes (James 3:15–17) before speaking.

NOTE:  Paul modeled this in Acts 13:10 (with Elymas) and Acts 16 (with the soothsayer girl). He spoke by discernment, not suspicion.

  1. Holy Spirit First, Not Systems:
    Restoration in the First Church was Spirit-led, not dictated by formal policies.
    Jesus restored Peter personally, not through a board.

NOTE: Modern leaders must hear God freshly for each restoration. There’s no one-size-fits-all.

  1. Spiritual Surveillance Is Not Restoration:
    Galatians 6:1 is not permission to monitor others for faults.
    The heart of this verse is compassion, not control.

 Revelation 2:20 – THE SPIRIT OF JEZEBEL (FALSE AUTHORITY)

The Lord rebukes the top sr ministry office leader, rather than the person

KJV:

“Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee,(the sr office apostle) because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants…”

ESV:

“But I have this against you,(sr office apostle) that you tolerate that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess and is teaching and seducing my servants…”

Greek Word Study:

“Sufferest” – apheis (ἀφῆς) – to allow, tolerate.

“Seduce” – planáō (πλανάω) – to deceive, lead astray.

MAIN POINT:

Key Insight: False prophets often self-appoint and control behind the scenes, manipulating under a title.

 Ephesians 5:21** – MUTUAL SUBMISSION|

submission, no other “you must submit” teaching back in those days (applied to. all top offices, leader, elders, lay and Christian married couples)

“Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.”

ESV:

“Submitting to one another out of reverence for Christ.”

“Submit” – hupotassō (ὑποτάσσω) – to voluntarily yield, align under. (to honor by deferring)

Key Insight: A controlling or hierarchical spirit avoids submission to peers. Real leaders live in mutual accountability and humility.

 Ephesians 4:1–3 – WALK WORTHY IN HUMILITY AND UNITY

“The HOW’S of Everyday Community” (and it requires each person’s work,God’s help and each one’s willingness to longsuffer, to fall off the horse, but will get back on again)

“I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,
With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;
Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.”

ESV:

“I… urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling… with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.”

Greek Word Study:

“Lowliness” – tapeinophrosynē (ταπεινοφροσύνη) – humility of mind.

“Forbearing” – anechomai (ἀνέχομαι) – to put up with, endure graciously.

Key Insight: False prophets often appear elite, demanding, punishing and/or condescending. They demand that we all are “under them. “This is because they don’t know or obey “authentic Bible.Vain self protective, acquiring mostly God’s people “owning” systemic fierce turf guarders…rather than the above ‘community.”

Whereas, True prophets are lowly, peaceful, and unity-minded. They submit to, comply and advocate Ephesians 4.

James 3:17 – FRUIT OF TRUE WISDOM

KJV:

“But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.”

ESV:

“But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere.”

Greek Word Study:

“Easy to be intreated” – eupeithēs (εὐπειθής) – compliant, open to discussion or reason.

Key Insight: False prophets are defensive, guarded, noncontrite even  unteachable. The true Spirit of Christ is gentle, peaceable, and reasonable.

Isaiah 1:18 –REASON TOGETHER WITH GOD

KJV:

“Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow…”

ESV:

“Come now, let us reason together, says the Lord: though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow…”

Hebrew Word Study:

“Reason” – yakach (יָכַח) – to correct, decide, judge, argue one’s case.

MAIN POINT: God Himself invites open conversation, even with sinners. Avoidance,biased deflection, and “untouchable mantles” are unbiblical.
