Introduction:
The supernatural power of God didn’t stop at the parting of the Red Sea. The same God who led Moses and delivered the Israelites still moves today.
This teaching explores miracles from the Old and New Testaments, examining original Hebrew, Greek, and Aramaic words to uncover their deep and continuing power.
1. The Blood Over the Door – Divine Protection (Exodus 12:13)
“And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you…” (KJV)
Hebrew: “dam” (דָּם) — blood, symbolic of covenant and covering.
This act prefigured the blood of Jesus (Hebrews 9:14) and reveals God’s pattern: divine judgment passes over where there is obedience and covering.
2. Led by Fire and Cloud – Supernatural Guidance (Exodus 13:21)
“And the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud… and by night in a pillar of fire…”
Hebrew: “anan" (עָנָן)_ – cloud; _"
esh” (אֵשׁ) – fire. These symbols represent the visible manifestations of God’s guiding presence. In the wilderness, the cloud covered them by day, shielding them from heat, and the fire by night provided light and direction. They illustrate God’s constant awareness and supernatural provision.
God didn’t leave them wandering. His presence gave direction. Today, He still guides by His Spirit (John 16:13).
3. Red Sea Parting – Deliverance by God’s Hand (Exodus 14:21–22)
“…the Lord caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night… and the waters were divided.”
Hebrew: “ruach” (רוּחַ) – wind, spirit, breath.
The same word is used for the Spirit of God (Genesis 1:2). The wind that parted the sea symbolizes both natural force and spiritual authority.

4. New Testament Parallels: Power in the Name of Jesus
Acts 3:6 (KJV):
“In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.”
Greek: “onoma” (ὄνομα) – name, authority, reputation. Calling on Jesus invokes divine authority and presence.
Miracles performed by Peter, Paul, and others are direct extensions of Jesus’ own ministry (Mark 16:17–18)

5. Resurrection: The Ultimate Miracle (Romans 8:11)
“…he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies…”
Greek: “zōopoieō” (ζῳοποιέω) – to make alive, resurrect.
This is not a metaphor—it is the reality of God’s Spirit indwelling His people.

6. Pentecost: Empowerment for Miracles (Acts 2:1–4)
“…they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues…”‘
Greek: “glossa” (γλῶσσα) – tongues, language; “dynamis” (δύναμις) – power.
Aramaic Note: In many Eastern manuscripts, the Spirit’s coming is described using imagery tied to fire and wind—echoing Exodus.
7. Healing and Deliverance Continue (Mark 16:17–18)
“…they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.”
Greek: “therapeuō” (θεραπεύω) – to serve, to heal. Root of the English “therapy.”The ministry of healing isn’t past tense. It is a now-word, empowered by faith and the indwelling Holy Spirit.
Conclusion:
The God who delivered Israel with signs and wonders, who raised Jesus from the grave, and who poured out His Spirit at Pentecost—He still works today.
Let us know both the Scriptures and the power of God (Matthew 22:29).
Jesus Christ told the Sadducees ( who fought Jesus about the “resurrection” (God’s supernatural power)
“Ye err, not knowing the scriptures or the power of God” Matthew 22:29
This means: that we each need to know more of BOTH!
Sincerely,
TD
