RESURRECTION POWER: THE KEY FROM OLD TESTAMENT, NEW TESTAMENT TO NOW

What GOD knew, from before Creation, which  Adam and Eve did NOT KNOW nor APOSTLE PAUL, first Church and RIGHT NOW  is what God NEW and what Paul alluded to in 2 Corinthians 2:9-10

9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.

Introduction

Throughout the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, we see the supernatural fingerprint of a living, all-powerful Creator who transcends time, nature, and human limitation. This article delves into the miraculous and resurrection power of God, connecting Old Testament signs and wonders with the indwelling power of the Holy Spirit in the New Testament church. We will explore the original Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek language for deeper understanding, showing how God’s power to create, heal, resurrect, and reveal continues in the Church Age and into today.

1. God’s Supernatural Acts in the Old Testament

Genesis 1:1 declares, “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.” The Hebrew word for “created” is “bara'” (בָּרָא), meaning to create out of nothing. This same creative power (Hebrew: koach, meaning strength, power, or force) is evident in the parting of the Red Sea (Exodus 14), the stopping of the sun (Joshua 10), and the resurrection of the widow’s son by Elijah (1 Kings 17).

Isaiah 10:27 (KJV) speaks of the yoke being destroyed “because of the anointing.” The Hebrew word “anointing” is “shemen”, literally meaning fat or oil—symbolic of the Holy Spirit’s empowering presence.

Romans 4:17 ties it together, as Paul writes of Abraham’s faith in “God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.” The Greek for “quickeneth” is “zōoopoieō” (ζωοποιέω), meaning to make alive, give life.

2. Prophetic Power and the Sevenfold Spirit

Isaiah 11:2–3 reveals the sevenfold Spirit of God, often interpreted as:

The Spirit of the LORD (YHWH)

Wisdom (Hebrew: chokmah)

Understanding (biynah)

Counsel (etsah)

Might (geburah)

Knowledge (da’ath)

Fear of the Lord (yir’ah)

These aspects point to the fullness of God’s Spirit that rested upon Christ and now indwells believers through the Holy Spirit (John 16:13).

3. Revelation and Resurrection Power in the New Covenant

Romans 8:11 (KJV) states, “If the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you… he shall also quicken your mortal bodies.” Again, we see zōoopoieō—God’s resurrection power in action, now indwelling believers.

1 Corinthians 1:24 says, “Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.” In Greek, “power” is dynamis (δύναμις)—miraculous power, and “wisdom” is sophia (σοφία)—divine insight.

In 1 Corinthians 2:9–10, Paul writes that God has prepared things “which eye hath not seen…” but has revealed them by His Spirit. The word “revealed” is apokalyptō (ἀποκαλύπτω)—to unveil or disclose, highlighting the Holy Spirit’s role as revealer of the mysteries of God (cf. Daniel 2:28).

John 16:13 promises the Spirit of Truth will guide us into all truth and show us “things to come.” The Greek here, anagellō (ἀναγγέλλω), implies divine proclamation or announcement of the future—supernatural insight, not natural speculation.

4. Biblical Foundation for Continual Revelation and Power

Jeremiah 33:3 (KJV): “Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.” In Hebrew, “mighty” is batsar, meaning inaccessible or hidden—secrets only God can reveal.

Matthew 22:29 (KJV): “Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.” Jesus links ignorance of Scripture directly to missing God’s miraculous ability—His dynamis.

Conclusion: The Power of God—Yesterday, Today, and Forever

From the parting of the Red Sea to the resurrection of Jesus Christ, from the prophetic vision of Daniel to the Spirit-led Church of Acts, God’s supernatural power is consistent and transformative. The same Holy Spirit that hovered over the waters in Genesis now dwells within believers, equipping them to move in wisdom, healing, boldness, and revelation.

The call is to know both Scripture and the power of God—two inseparable aspects of walking in Spirit and truth. As Jesus said in John 16:33, “Be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” That overcoming, quickening power is still at work—in us and through us—today.
