My Personal Testimony “Warning Not to Blaspheme the Holy Spirit”
When I was 8 years old, my mother and I were working in the yard, raking leaves. My mother was a Southern Baptist sr pastor’s cherished wife, who descended from a family (maybe up to 3 generations) of Bible scholars. She come from Presbyterian and Methodist roots.
Even though my Mother, and nobody in our extended family either speak in tongues or knew anyone who did, not a single person, even my Sr Pastor Baptist Father ever accused, talked against, much less mocked any person or group who did. I was “there” as a Luke Eyewitness about this.
My Early Ideas About NOT Blaspheming the Holy Spirit.
We had a screened-in porch also a tiny black-and-white television, which she plugged in so we could listen while we worked. One day, I was near the TV and saw a strange Christian show. It was Oral Roberts, who was Pentecostal and very different—louder, more energetic. I didn’t recall if he spoke in tongues on that one particular day, but as a kid, I could tell something was very, odd, different in his mannerisms.. so I started laughing at him. Making fun. But my mother noticed and rushed over to me, looked me straight in the eye, and said, “Don’t you ever talk like that about ANY Christian pastor !” And she promptly cut off the tiny TV.
Now, in hindsight, I see that prim and proper Bible theologian, Mom knew her Bible well. She didn’t want to risk me blaspheming the Holy Spirit, so she turned off the television. That moment made a huge impression on me—my mother’s respect for a different movement, her knowledge of the truth, and her proactive care to protect her children from such a serious matter, even if it was on television
These Days and Beyond: In retrospect there was common knowledge of ‘grass roots fellow Christian good neighbor “respect” as well as a general more valued view of other community persons and “the reverential holy fear of the Lord, ” also God’s Holy Word” and the knowledge about this. In the incident which follows, it shows up my dear late Mothers, knowledge, Bibles and their deep depth. Holy Spirit.
And in hindsight for the for the last 15-20 “Holy Ghost years” it has been made clearer to me of the depth of the weak Church, but the increase in the modern day CHRISTIAN “MINISTRY gossip, assault by accusation, tongue talking mockery the use of slick glib knowledge, but also the the weak power, and the absence True Eternal Perspective with the many today, even many of these getting to ready to go hell for all the wrong reasons. Stuck Up Narcissist …Well filmed, edited, lighted, outspoken yet shameful Weak Poor Me Self Righteous LOUD Ignorance.
Introduction: The Scandal Ministry Trend and Its Impact on the Church
In today’s social media-driven world, the TMZ-style ministry scandal trend has risen to alarming prominence. Ministries, pastors, and Christian leaders have become the subject of public scrutiny, and not in the traditional manner of biblical correction or accountability. Instead, we see the rise of sensationalism, mockery, and blatant defamation. Christian ministers—especially those involved in charismatic ministries, healing services, or prophetic movements—are increasingly being targeted by well-edited, monetized videos that often distort their actions and misrepresent their intentions.
This trend, unfortunately, does not just stay within the walls of the church; it spreads far and wide across the internet and social media, generating a toxic environment that fuels misunderstanding of the Christian faith and Bible teachings. Worse, it casts doubt on the authenticity of Christians and their ministry, adding fuel to the fire of skepticism and cynicism that plagues both the secular world and even Christian families.
It’s a sign a Weak Loveless Adrift Church: but also tell tell signs of Low Class, Fragile Ego, Shakey Self Worth, Very Low Self Esteem, Pitious Dysfunction Deep, Back in the Woods Stark Ambition due to Poverty, A Lack of Sufficient Deep Rooted “fear of the Lord” normal Christian Bible Training and Loss of Eternal Vision. Also it’s classist, Demas fruit amidst New Modern Day poor parental, pastor, apostolic genuine role models”
The TMZ Ministry Trend: A Growing Trend of Scandal and Sensationalism
The rise of scandalous media content about prominent Christian leaders—whether about their personal failures, misunderstandings, or controversial actions—has led to a troubling trend. Just like the tabloid-style media that thrives on celebrity gossip and scandal, Christian leaders are increasingly becoming the subjects of well-edited, viral videos that spread across social media like wildfire. These videos focus not on the truth or context of the situation but on presenting sensationalized clips designed to mock, condemn, or vilify the individual.
As these videos become more viral, they perpetuate the false narratives about Christianity and the Body of Christ. The implications of these videos go beyond debate or disagreement over doctrinal issues. They affect how Christians are viewed by the world and create an even bigger gap between believers and non-believers
How the TMZ Trend Fuels Doubt About Christianity and the Bible
The media has a profound influence on public opinion, and when Christian leaders are repeatedly targeted with videos designed to make them appear hypocritical, unethical, or even demonic, the impact is disastrous. These scandalous videos are more than just distractions or disagreements. They are the fuel that ignites the fire of doubt in both the unchurched world and even among believers themselves.
For example, let’s consider a situation in which a husband—who may not be a believer—sees a viral video of a Christian leader making an unwise decision or engaging in what appears to be manipulative behavior. He then looks at his wife—who is a devoted Christian—and says, “See, this is why I don’t believe in any of it. You’re all the same—hypocrites, dishonest, and off your rocker.”
This doesn’t just affect relationships between individuals. It affects entire families, especially when the gospel is being mocked in front of children, teens, and seekers who may be exposed to these videos. It becomes fuel for the cynics—those who already question the validity of Christianity, the truth of the Bible, or the integrity of Christians. When these sensationalized videos flood their social media feeds, it gives them confirmation that their views were correct all along. Christianity is seen as nothing more than a bunch of misguided people who worship hypocrites.
The Effect on Children, Teens, and Seekers: Fueling Itching Ears and Gossip
The media culture also has a deep impact on young people—children, teenagers, and those who are new to the faith or seeking to learn about Christianity. In the world of social media, it’s not just the negative headlines that grab attention; it’s the drama, the scandal, and the juicy gossip that circulate like blood in the water for hungry sharks. This creates a culture of itching ears (2 Timothy 4:3) where people are drawn to the latest scandal or the most controversial story.
The young generation, raised on constant media consumption, is conditioned to gravitate toward videos that mock, tear down, and vilify others. Instead of hearing the truth or engaging in honest discussion, they are often exposed to misrepresentations that leave them with a distorted view of God, Christ, and Christianity itself.
This culture feeds the spiritual hunger of those seeking answers but can ultimately lead them down a path of doubt and disillusionment. Rather than seeking Christ and understanding God’s love, they may find themselves entangled in sensationalized narratives and unbiblical conclusions.

Blaspheming the Holy Spirit: A Grave Warning from Scripture
Blaspheming the Holy Spirit is one of the most serious offenses a person can commit in the eyes of God. The Bible speaks of this sin as unpardonable and warns of its eternal consequences. It is an offense that transcends mere misdeeds or mistakes—it is a willful, intentional rejection of the work and ministry of the Holy Spirit. In this blog, we will explore what blaspheming the Holy Spirit means, its ramifications, and how the modern church’s disregard for this serious warning might lead some to mistakenly commit this sin, especially in the age of social media, cynicism, and mockery.
What Does Blaspheming the Holy Spirit Mean?
In Matthew 12:31-32 (KJV), Jesus gives a powerful warning:
“Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men. And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.” (Matthew 12:31-32 KJV)
Blasphemy refers to insulting, mocking, or rejecting the sacredness of God’s work. In the context of the Holy Spirit, it specifically refers to rejecting the Spirit’s work in the world, denying His divine power, and attributing His work to the devil. This was the accusation that the Pharisees made against Jesus, calling His miracles—done through the power of the Holy Spirit—works of Beelzebub (the prince of demons).
In short, blaspheming the Holy Spirit is the deliberate and willful rejection of the Holy Spirit’s influence and work in the world. To say that the Spirit’s work is demonic is to directly oppose God’s will and the manifestation of His presence on earth. The result of this is eternal separation from God and forgiveness being denied, as this sin goes beyond human error and into a realm of unrepentance.
Ramifications: What Happens to a Person Who Blasphemes the Holy Spirit?
The most terrifying aspect of blaspheming the Holy Spirit is that it is unforgivable. Jesus makes it very clear in Matthew 12:31-32 that this sin cannot be pardoned—neither in this life nor in the life to come. This is why it is considered an unpardonable sin. Once a person has hardened their heart and rejects the work of the Holy Spirit, they place themselves in a position where they cannot be restored because they have rejected the only means of salvation—the work of the Holy Spirit.
One of the grievous consequences of blaspheming the Holy Spirit is that it leads to being removed from the Lamb’s Book of Life. In Revelation 3:5 (KJV), we see the warning:
“He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.”
In contrast, for those who reject the work of the Holy Spirit, their names can be blotted out of the Lamb’s Book of Life. This is the ultimate loss—not just the loss of earthly rewards, but the eternal loss of salvation and communion with God.
When someone blasphemes the Holy Spirit, they are effectively cutting themselves off from the only source of salvation, the Spirit’s conviction that leads to repentance and reconciliation with God. This is why the Bible calls it unforgivable—because once a person has rejected the Spirit’s work, there is no other way for them to be saved.
The Danger in Modern Christianity: Cynicism, Mockery, and the Risk of Blasphemy
One of the tragic trends in today’s Christian media culture is the mocking and vilification of ministers who operate in the power of the Holy Spirit—whether through speaking in tongues, healing, casting out demons, or prophecy. This mocking often occurs openly and publicly via social media, where editors cut videos to create the illusion of error or deception.
The unfortunate result is that many people, especially younger generations, begin to view the gifts of the Spirit as foolish or fake. Instead of discerning the real work of the Holy Spirit, they become callous and cynical, dismissing entire movements of God as mere showmanship or fraudulent activity.
These attitudes, when openly expressed, especially through mockery and criticism, open the door to the unintentional blasphemy of the Holy Spirit. As believers become hardened in their critical stance, they risk rejecting the very work of the Holy Spirit, who is actively moving in the world today to heal, deliver, and restore.
Many Christians in today’s culture are quick to judge the authenticity of other believers’ experiences with the Holy Spirit. Some may mock those who fall under the power of God, or they may dismiss speaking in tongues as emotionalism or even demonic. This casual approach to judging the work of the Holy Spirit is dangerous because, in doing so, they risk crossing the line from healthy discernment into the territory of blasphemy.
As it is written in 1 Thessalonians 5:19-21 (KJV):
“Quench not the Spirit. Despise not prophesyings. Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.”
Believers are called to test and discern spiritual things, but we must do so with humility and reverence, never quenching the Spirit or despising His manifestations. To mock or revile those who are genuinely moving in the Spirit is a dangerous step toward grieving the Holy Spirit and, ultimately, blaspheming Him.
How Modern Christians Can Avoid the Danger of Blaspheming the Holy Spirit
To avoid the danger of blaspheming the Holy Spirit, it is critical for modern Christians to align their hearts with God’s Word and approach spiritual matters with humility and discernment.
-
Guard Against Cynicism: In a culture that thrives on sarcasm and mockery, it is vital to guard your heart against the spirit of cynicism. While we are encouraged to be discerning, we must do so in love, understanding that God is still at work through His people, despite human flaws.
-
Avoid Judging Others’ Spiritual Experiences: Many believers today are quick to discredit others’ experiences with the Holy Spirit because they don’t understand or agree with them. However, we must remember that the Spirit’s work is often mysterious and beyond our human comprehension. It is dangerous to mock or belittle what God is doing, especially when it involves spiritual gifts or manifestations that are in line with the New Testament church.
-
Seek Humility and Repentance: If you have found yourself mocking or criticizing others in the Body of Christ, especially for their experience of the Holy Spirit, it is essential to repent. Turn your heart back toward God, asking for His forgiveness and seeking His grace to correct your attitude.
-
Encourage Love and Respect: Above all, we must pursue a spirit of love, respect, and unity within the Body of Christ. The Holy Spirit works through different people in different ways, and it is not our place to judge or condemn others for their experiences, especially when they are genuinely seeking the Lord.
Conclusion: A Grave Warning and Call to Repentance
Blaspheming the Holy Spirit is a serious and unpardonable sin, and modern Christians must be vigilant in guarding against it. While it’s natural to feel skeptical about spiritual experiences, we must always remember that the Holy Spirit is working in the world today, bringing healing, restoration, and power to those who seek God.
We must not allow cynicism, mockery, or self-righteousness to take root in our hearts, for in doing so, we risk rejecting the very work of God in the world. Let us approach the gifts of the Spirit with humility and respect, always remembering that blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is an unforgivable sin—one that we must avoid at all costs.
May we be discerning, but always loving, as we strive to walk in the Spirit and honor the work of God in our lives and in the world.
The Lack of Pure Training

A DUE WARNING: PLEASE WATCH OUT FOR, ABOUT TARGETING THIS
A Enormous Media Example: Demonizing, Accusing, Reviling Binny Hinn
I happen to be online mainly, at the current, so I follow ‘surfacing media trends, mostly types of Christians, mainly in the last 3 years I now name as a Genre “Lucrative Expose of the Mega Proven well known ministry, usually drawing us all in with notorious scandal “itching ears” headlines, flashy fishing packaging, and always showing the human persons FACE and MINISTRY Building and the usually tawdry expose “deep dive” immature finding.
While that pertains to a lot of this wicked Sin Spying Tell All (usually well off) Tabloid sick Genre, I must warn those who intentionally seek out and got after persons who are shown operating in the gifts of the spirit. I will name ONE Binny Hinn, for he is the most recognized and caught on video
Binny Hinn is on You Tube and what I am addressing this is NOT his ‘prosperity /wealth” that is his and only his Christian minister business.
But I am commenting on the possibility, that whether or not “he is wrong or right” I will not risk my own eternal safety by mocking the operating in the Book of Acts big power anointing, which I have frankly experienced, and am highly acquainted with. Meaning: from the clips these persons choose to show of him, they are “accusing ceassationist”‘ who are well off and perhaps not fully trained like this myself and are biased, (this use of bias means” not just say that after the apostle died, that Book of Acts Holy Spirit stopped, for my father a patient Southern Baptist seminary grad pastor, was taught that in Louisville KY back when, YET HE WAS NOT ACCUSING, FRAUGHT, ATTACKING his wife, myself, my sister, my aunt and circles of Christian friends who did.
THAT IS MY POINT
As Paul said “work out your own salvation with fear and trembling” Philippians, which certainly applies to each person having their own pet views, like this, and I adhere and affirm that for each and every persons. Christian or not. BUT it’s not open accusing, reviling and demonizing mature persons who are sent, called, who know more of the Matthew 22;29 “chief realm”
A BIG WARNING
And hence I teach this and urge these GIANT seem mature authority people BE WARNED.
Making a Point:
As I write what follows, I am not naive about Pastor Hinn’s big controversies, I do not follow him nor even want to watch him in any form right now. So what I comment upon shall be about “his fame his money or married life style” as I realize about this.
However, I go way, too far, back to not amend and address and to train this present “crop”..and as I was of younger, pure heart, a Sent Bible scholar to get to know the more Holy Spirit, later worship, and moving in the gifts, revivals, renewals and major out pourings, I was not naive or one to be quickly fooled.
Hence I observed him out side, firmly objectively, from the views of his TV (90s) at random times, as directed by the Holy Spirit I sat in several conferences and was also invented as a Christian minister to sit in with the ministers sections, I even got to go up on stage and have hands laid upon me. And was always good.
And for a few short years, also before the controversies, I attended when there was nothing to accuse, I attended meetings in Richmond, VA , Washington DC way before his many controversies; I even sang in his choir on the steps of (perhaps the capital or somewhere )back in the day . However, it was nothing accusable, only pleasant and mostly servant leaders seeking more of God.
I stopped watching Christian TV, for the most part, in the late 90’s on but was on TV myself. I now watch the occasional ministry on You Tube and of course have some of my online favorites, which I check in on as the Spirit allows . But, for the most part, I have turned with digust from “these micro and mega well produced “still micromanaging systels”
And I distance from watching due to the every present funding real issues. I also began to study real life family and money and funding and offerings presentation and real life effects on Christian grass roots due to all of the Hollywood Fame and decline in Amercan and in families and the Church.
But mostly the Saving Lords Good Safe Down To Earth Sacred Name.
Aside:
For a fact, this non biased community apostolic ministry move EORR CROSS BODY UNITY came from being around ‘superior’ “money more than Life” (now big tattle tale, tawdry expose, juicy gossip) that. (from the late 1990’s early to mid 2010s”. The Lord even removed me out from being a charismatic in 2013 DFW and I purposed dropped my 5013c IFFM (The International Fellowship of Foundational Ministries, based on Paul Ephesians 2:19-21). *However IFFM is coming back through out Mentoring Side (Taveau Teaching Center)
So you must respect this odd perspective, I don’t debate however I do respect persons who’s views may contrast with mine.
Benny Hinn; I know his story, And this is about his very controversial “moving in the big Acts gifts” (which few in the foreigns nations view as odd, such as Africa and many similar for more “accustomed to the powerful, real of the spirit” kinds of nations nations) (comment Hollywood did much affect all of the 1980’s far more servant leader, not as charismatic flamboyant and/or sadly, appearing now, as the USA Global accusing, need to be continuing suspious Famous Hollywood “type, category, or appearing to be “prosperity teachers” which is more the same old same old Biased Realist Stereotype of ” Christian’s Wanting Their, My, Our Money)
And by commenting like this I will not accuse any one regarded as “well known” or “lesser” meaning” lacking in fame” (as their is a giant respecter of persons abounding regal spirit out in the ranks of these auspicious celebrities)
Note that I teach “observe each on “one by one, individual, ministry by ministry, flow by flow “respecting, however assessing, repeatedly nickle and dime, “evaluating” based on the “COMMUNITY WIDE EFFECT” “society needing a Transformed Mega and all the micro, “God’s Church” as in Eternity Aligned, and wooing in, being influential among, retaining newbies..the micro and mega “Harvest, (which is Luke 1;17 “relationship regard and healing, reconciling, getting along in unity ” rather than 1. Being Famous 2. Having it all 3. Be blessed. (usually fruits of ministry, junior league, non contrite “ambition.”
Making Sane Big Points:
+++ Again, Just so you know: This has well thought out, needed, Pure motives (no secret personal, any ministry hidden agenda)
+++ Focusing on “Eternity, what matters” winning the Lost, repopulating the legalistic Church. Counteracting the “apostasy” and warning many people of the God’s wrath to come,
**and the EU 666 which is right now awakening
Also, I submit it, this as a Selah, rather than hard core accusing dogma. And as Noble Berean which would mostly like make servant Apostle Paul ‘proud”
Back on Topic; The Real Dangers of Any Christ Following Mocking Ones Who Move in the Gifts
First: I quote My Messiah, Christ as He openly rebuked His own people, who the leaders of the Sadducees sect. Apostle Jesus said to them in Matthew 22:29
“You err not knowing the scripture or the power of God”
Reason: they did not believe in the supernatural resurrection and where using Big Boss “top down” sly cunning accusing legalisms.
We note:
One of the grave dangers of mocking or publicly defaming mature ministers who are moving in the Holy Spirit—especially with tongues, laying hands, or casting out demons—is the potential for blaspheming the Holy Spirit (Matthew 12:31-32). Jesus warned about this, and the Bible clearly teaches that blasphemy of the Holy Spirit is an unpardonable sin.
When people mock those who are genuinely operating in the gifts of the Spirit, they undermine the work of the Holy Spirit and vilify what God is doing through them. By doing so, they align themselves with the accusers who reject the work of the Holy Spirit. Jesus didn’t take kindly to those who called His miracles the work of the devil—He warned them of the consequences.
It’s crucial for believers to be cautious about how they engage with leaders in the Body of Christ, especially when they are moving in the Spirit. The destructive nature of mocking the Holy Spirit is not something that should be taken lightly, and we must guard against it in our words, actions, and attitudes.
Proper Protocol: Discerning and Confronting Sin Biblically
The Bible gives us clear guidelines for how to address sin or moral failure in the church. Matthew 18:15-17 teaches that private confrontation should always be the first step. If a believer sins, they should be confronted privately, in love and with the goal of restoration. If that doesn’t work, witnesses can be brought in, and finally, the church itself can be involved.
However, what’s happening today in the media-driven culture is a far cry from biblical protocol. Instead of private correction, we have a public airing of grievances, with videos and social media posts designed to discredit and tear down fellow believers. This undermines the integrity of the church and damages the witness of the gospel.
Conclusion: A Call to Discernment, Respect, and Media Integrity
The growing trend of scandal-based, media-driven attacks against Christian leaders is a serious issue that must be addressed. It damages not only the reputation of the church but also the testimony of the gospel. We must be vigilant in how we engage with these issues, and always keep in mind the biblical principles of respect, discernment, and private confrontation.
It is essential to protect the young generation from being swept away by sensationalism and gossip. As Christians, we are called to speak the truth in love, uphold biblical protocols, and respect the work of the Holy Spirit in each other’s lives. Let us refuse to engage in the media frenzy that fuels cynicism and mockery, and instead, seek to build up the Body of Christ with respect, humility, and a desire to honor God.
