“A talebearer revealeth secrets: but he that is of a faithful spirit concealeth the matter.”
Proverbs 11:13 KJV
Breakdown:
“Talebearer” = someone who gossips or reveals private matters.
“Revealeth secrets” = exposes things that should be kept private.
“Faithful spirit” = someone trustworthy and loyal.
“Concealeth the matter” = keeps confidences and doesn’t spread what should be private.
“A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.” Luke 6:45
Introduction: More Than a Family Command
“Honor thy father and thy mother; that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.”Exodus 20:12, KJV
The fifth commandment is often quoted in parenting messages and family devotionals, but it’s far more than a rule for children. It is a spiritual law, social stabilizer, and prophetic key to generational blessing—not only in the natural world but also in the Body of Christ.
Today, in an era of many Christian viral media, exposés, and spiritual cynicism, we must ask:
Are we still honoring our fathers and mothers—both natural and spiritual? Or have we opened the door to dishonor, destruction, and even blasphemy?
Natural Honor: The Pattern Begins at Home
God begins with the home. Honoring our parents teaches us how to:
Recognize authority without worshiping it
Accept correction without rebellion
Pass on respect across generations
The Lord ties long life to this principle (Ephesians 6:1-3). But this principle extends far beyond your living room. It flows into the church, the nation, and the spiritual bloodstream of all God’s people.
MAIN POINT
Spiritual Fathers, Mothers, and Movements: Do We Still Honor Them?
Paul wrote:
“Rebuke not an elder, but entreat him as a father… the elder women as mothers…”
— 1 Timothy 5:1-2, KJV
Paul is clear: We are to treat those who’ve gone before us with dignity, not as disposable, outdated furniture in the house of God.
Yet modern Christian culture, particularly the Western media-fueled side, often promotes disrespect toward:
- Older ministers with less “relevant” presentation
- Previous moves of the Holy Spirit (revivals, charismatic waves, tent ministries, deliverance revivals)
- Apostolic fathers and mothers who pioneered hard ground before social media platforms even existed
-

KEY TMZ CHRISTIAN MINISTRY POINT
Media Mockery & Cancel Culture in the Church: A Sin of Our Age?
Today’s Christian “scandal media” feeds off mocking, exposing, and ridiculing known ministers like Benny Hinn and others who operate in signs and wonders, tongues, healing, deliverance—things that clearly happened in the Book of Acts.
These types of content may look like journalism or discernment at first glance, but many are really:
Mocking the Holy Spirit
Scorning older generations of faith
Ripping the Body of Christ apart in front of unbelievers
Fueling cynicism in families where only one spouse is saved
Exposing innocent children and teens to spiritual confusion
“Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm.”
— Psalm 105:15, KJV
Blasphemy Against the Holy Spirit: A Silent Crisis in the Modern Church
Jesus gave a clear warning:
“But he (she) that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation.”— Mark 3:29, KJV
Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit is not casual sin—it is a terminal act of rejection and accusation against the Spirit’s work, calling what is holy “demonic.”
This is especially sobering today, as many on social media:
- Edit Holy Spirit moments to look like cult theatrics
- Call tongues, falling under the power, and healing “demonic”
- Make sarcastic reaction videos to ministers praying, worshiping, or operating in faith
HOLY FEAR OF THE LORD POINT
These acts can cross a line—not just into disrespect, but into blasphemy. The tragedy? Many don’t even know the risk they’re taking.
What About the Children, Teens, and Seekers?
“Woe unto the world because of offences!… Woe to that man by whom the offence cometh!”
— Matthew 18:7, KJV
PASTOR’S POINT
The mocking of God’s servants and moves of the Spirit isn’t just a grown-up theological argument—it becomes a stumbling block to:
Children and teens exploring faith
Unsaved spouses and family members watching
Seekers trying to find truth amid spiritual confusion
When they see Christians ripping each other to shreds, it confirms the worst stereotype:
“All Christians are fake, greedy, unbalanced, or dishonest.”
Duly Note: This is not a small side effect. It is eternal damage. Some of these mockers, if unrepentant, risk having their names blotted from the Lamb’s Book of Life.
See the scriptures for that in this website Jan 202 5 2 parts LAMBS BOOK OF LIFE Answers this and also Is it “once saved, always saved?”
Where Do We Go From Here?
.1 Teach Honor Again
We must train the church to honor elders, past moves of God, and spiritual fathers/mothers, just as we honor natural parents.
2. Guard the Mouth
Even if correction is necessary, it must be done with biblical reverence, not social-media sarcasm.
3. Discern the Spirit Before Speaking
Ask: “Am I judging a person, or am I attributing the works of the Holy Spirit to something evil?”
4.Revive the Fear of the Lord
We need a holy, healthy fear of grieving or mocking God’s Spirit, whether in a revival meeting or a prayer line.
5. How to teaching “how should we acquire ” the holy fear of the Lord Proverbs 2:1-5 a starter, the Lambs Book of Life (both print outs)
Final Word: The Bridge Between Generations Is Holy Ground
It is no small thing to walk across the bridge of generations. The elders in the church are not perfect, but neither are we. To dishonor them is to cut off our own roots, and worse—to risk grieving the very Spirit that is still working through them.
“Remove not the ancient landmark, which thy fathers have set.”
— Proverbs 22:28, KJV
Honor is not optional. It’s the bridge between the now and the next, between past revivals and future harvests. Let’s build that bridge—not burn it.
